The 996 didn’t have an official Turbo S until 2005. In 2002 Porsche introduced the X50 performance package option to the 996 Turbo. Many consider this option the closest you get to an S. Essentially, the X50 option gave the Turbo a higher output of 450HP due in part to larger turbo chargers, intercoolers, tuned ECU, and updated exhaust. Production numbers are unknown. However it is said that each dealer sold only a couple each year between 2002 and 2004. The option was rather expensive at $17,000-19,000 depending on the production year.
This 2003 X50 Turbo was ordered in stunning Speed Yellow with Graphite Gray full leather with aluminum accents. It also has Bose premium sound. The car is in beautiful shape and has been very well maintained over the years. The interior looks like new and feels very fresh. Everything works on the car including the rear wing. It drives out extremely well and is very quick. The clutch and brakes work as they should and have lots of life left on them. The car is entirely stock with the exception of a K&N air cleaner. The car comes with books, one set of keys, tools, jack, spare and a clean Carfax. This is a really wonderful example of a future classic!
